Pete and Jennifer wanted a laid back and fun wedding with a hippy twist and they got it. I knew we were going to get along when what Jennifer was most excited about was wearing a wreath instead of carrying flowers, they were both so excited that the band had mullets, and they loved their dog Floyd so much that they were flying him to Benton, WA from Houston, TX for the wedding via a pet airline (It makes sense, dogs are more like people than luggage). Jennifer wore her mother’s vintage wedding dress which of course made the day even more sweet and sentimental.
I had a couple of favorite moments. I must say the “child within” got really excited when I heard the ice cream truck coming and Jennifer’s brother ran out to stop it. Bomb pops! And then I got goosebumps when a full band played for the processional (also got a little choked up too). I had never had a full band play for the ceremony and let me tell you I’d definitely recommend it. Such a powerful moment that was transportive.
A huge thanks to Anna Jaye Goellner for traveling so far to second shoot, lending her talents to me, and tolerating all that loud singing I did on the road.
