I was so happy to play a small part on such a momentous day in Oregon history. I was a volunteer photographer for the same sex wedding and celebration held on May 19th provided by Oregon United for Marriage, Basic Rights Oregon, and Portland’s community of wedding vendors. As soon as the decision by Judge Michael McShane was announced that Oregon’s marriage ban was unconstitutional, couples lined up to get their marriage license and had a free wedding at the Melody Ballroom. So many families, sweethearts, and life long couples will finally became recognized by the state.
