Claire & Ryan: Mt. Hood Wedding
Thanksgiving morning, I left my husband and kid on the couch snuggled up and about to watch the Thanksgiving Day parade. I’m not going to lie, it was hard leaving them. I should also mention it was killer-cold that day so that didn’t help. But once Claire and Ryan’s ceremony began I forgot about the cold, and the day of tofurkey eating, and was just amazed by their thoughtful ceremony and all the feelings they must all be feeling. Ryan had a moment of meditation before the ceremony, and then Claire and Ryan rang bells to each other signaling to each other they were ready. They wrote their own vows, put oil on each others’ foreheads, exchanged rings, and their family put hand written well-wishes into the fire. After we were done they were heading to a nearby cabin to cook their family Thanksgiving dinner. It was a powerful moment and I’m so glad I got to be there.
