Documentary Wedding Photos of 2022
A much belated post of my 2022 wedding “Yearbook”. As the years go on, I take on less weddings to focus more on families, but I can’t help but want to gather and archive these photographs – a few images that are the genuine documentary moments that give me all the *feels* that I had the honor of recording. The weddings I still photograph are those that want a more intimate documentary style, and only want real unscripted moments instead of me telling them what to do, lovers of black & white, and not lists of group shots that take up most of their day. Oh and elopements, I love elopements: all about the love, and less about the hub-bub.
I did take on an amazing “associate photographer”, Molly, that is there for those weddings that aren’t a perfect fit for me or I’m not available for, but still want the “June Lion style” since I do all the image selection and editing, along with my expertise of 20 years shooting weddings having a hand in the planning. Molly is such a calm to the storm of a wedding day, and photographs the perfect blend of those candid moments along with portraits that some people may want more direction for.
I hope you find good feelings in my retrospective of the year 2022, just a couple years on the back-burner, but finally done.
