Remote Sessions / Virtual Photoshoot
I have so many clients that I’ve loved working with in the past and they’ve subsequently moved away. There are also those clients that have followed my work for a while and often comment, “I really hope to work with you when I visit Portland someday!” Well, now I can offer photoshoots in either case– even across the world– with a remote session!
Here is all we need: 1. A dedicated virtual photoshoot app (free for you) 2. A cell phone with a good camera 3. An assistant (friend or partner) to take direction from me as to what to do with the phone. We can also use a tripod in a pinch. 4. Openness for experimentation, and making art together.
This is a creative art collaboration between photographer and subject. People are often more comfortable in front of the camera since I’m not in your physical space. We have fun with clothing and location, and we get to reinvent your typical photo session, and create intentional Fine Art. This virtual session can be for families, maternity, newborn, couples, and portraits.
The app allows me take full control of your camera function, and to shoot Camera RAW, utilizing the full image quality capability of your phone, and allowing for deeper editing adjustments. Photos are high quality enough to print wall art, and to create art books for your home.
I love a good photo album– it’s a way to feel and flip through your photos everyday, something to keep as an heirloom, and I can have even more artistic intention when laying out the design. Below I have both a layout of an album design, and then a wall art collection I put together with Gould Family. The Gould family lives in Iowa, and I photographed this session remotely in Portland Oregon!
Then the wall design I put together with the client.
